Yesterday I went to the British Museum and spotted these watercolour paintings by Edward Lear.

The group painted their first still life images onto stretched paper and here are the wonderful results! My photography skills really don't do this artwork justice, well done guys!

Work from the group

Just a few examples from the group of the techniques we have been playing around with so far including mixing colours, "wet on wet", delicious home baking and painting flat washes Keep your eyes peeled for more great work!

This week we will be looking at painting using a technique called "wet on wet" to give you a flavour of the work you can create I thought you might be interested in the work of British artist Aubrey Phillips.
